The socio-economic effects of the novel coronavirus and COVID-19 pandemic, though obvious to nearly everyone, are viewed differently by children, young adults, and older adults.
Consequently, the unseen yet far-reaching effects of the pandemic-related events encompassing today's high-school students can be easily overlooked by the eyes of their usual cadre of support, including concerned relatives, socially distanced teachers & counselors, and the students' various peer groups (academic, sports, religious, the arts, etc).
Accordingly, TeenBuilding USA is responding in a creative manner that is reflective of the times.
After careful consideration and thought, I am sharing a wonderful opportunity to accept, adapt, and achieve a form of acknowledgment and appreciation for how our teenagers are transitioning through the challenging events of today.
TeenBuilding USA is facilitating an essay contest for all current students at James Campbell High School.
Sponsored by TeenBuilding USA, in concert with a local publisher, the two top prizes include laptop computers. The Top 20 essays and short stories will be included in a soon-to-be published book entitled “Ewa Teen Time Capsule 2020.”
Ultimately available on Amazon.com and other book sellers, “Ewa Teen Time Capsule 2020” will provide a glimpse and snapshot into the minds of today’s students – tomorrow’s leaders - as they proceed through the unprecedented events evolving in our world today.
The contest is currently running through 11:59 pm HST on May 8, 2020.
If your student at James Campbell High School is interested in participating in this contest, please visit THIS LINK or the ENTER CONTEST button at bottom of this page for Contest rules and details.
