High-school graduations are the most significant milestone in the current lives of our future leaders.

In fact, high-school graduation is a rite of passage that has traditionally marked the transition from teenage student into young adulthood.
Because of the current pandemic, there are a multitude of secondary effects to consider. Specifically:

Yes, our graduates will miss the traditional cap-and-gown ceremony.

Yes, our graduates will miss the pomp and circumstance of the ceremonies.

Yes, our
graduates will miss out on the parties, presents, and presence of honor.

And they will also miss out on what is literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

They will miss out on the social, mental, and physical switch from high-school student to young adult.

They will miss out on the tremendous admiration they deserve (and have traditionally received) for their persistence and commitment to learning the knowledge required to earn a high-school diploma.
Remember:
Public graduation has been the #1 goal for the graduates’ entire lives.
Regardless of the respective graduate’s future intentions (military conscript, carpenter, concrete masonry, college student, cashier, or cook), they have all been looking forward to crossing the credentialed and public threshold and being handed their high-school diploma.

Accordingly, we must evaluate and respond to this international crisis in a locally meaningful and creative manner… and in a manner that is reflective of the past public pronouncements.  So...

With the assistance from the awesome and supportive parents at Kapolei High School, TeenBuilding USA is offering the community an opportunity to publicly recognize and participate in the long-standing transition from high school student to young adult.

The Kapolei High School “Honk & Wave” on Sunday, May 24th from 6-7:30 allows Kapolei High School Graduates to stand at socially distant safe spots on the sidewalks on the school side of Kapolei Pkwy.  With proper social distancing, the “Honk & Wave” event facilitates public community appreciation for our Graduates' lifetime achievement.

The Kapolei High School Graduate “Honk & Wave” allows passengers in passing cars to honk, wave, and heap praise and acknowledgement upon our Kapolei High School graduates.  In addition to an awesome public acknowledgement, the event marks a significant and memorable community event - open to everyone - and an awesome rite of passage for our graduating seniors!
Aloha,
